Traditional Dances North Halmahera

North Halmahera does have a variety of beach / island that is fascinating. That's the biggest reason why many people want to visit the area's rich beauty of the sea. However, for those of you who want to vacation in the area is touted as the toughest rival of Raja Ampat, you can also enjoy a variety of cultures owned North Halmahera. From various cultures who owned North Halmahera, dance is one of the most manifold owned North Halmahera. There are five dances owned North Halmahera:

Tidetide Dance

Tidetide Dance

Tidetide  is a typical dance North Halmahera that is usually performed at a specific event such as a wedding or a party of indigenous people. Movement on Tidetide dance has a specific meaning that can be interpreted as a lingua franca so Tidetide also known as a social dance. This dance is performed by men and women penaria groups totaling 12 people while accompanied by wasps drums, gongs and violin.

Cakalele Dance
Cakalele dance is a war dance today is more often performed to welcome guests who come to North Halmahera and events that are customary. The dancers Cakalele man usually takes Lenso (handkerchief).

Dengendenge Dance

Dengendenge Dance

Besides Tidetide, North Halmahera also have Dengendenge as social dances. Dengendenge dance is usually performed by a group of male and female dancers while singing the songs in the form of poetry rhyme has the meaning of love and hope in the future. The difference between Tidetide with Dengendenge is, after Dengendenge dance ended with an agreement to get married between men and women. Bridesmaids dengendenge chant sung by way of mutually reciprocated replies.

Gumatre Dance

Gumatre Dance 

Gumatre dance dance used to ask for directions to a problem or a natural phenomenon that often occurs. This dance is performed by 30 dancers, male and female. Penaria men used spears and swords while female dancers use Lenso. There are several unique features of the dance Gumatre. One of the unique things of this dance is one of the dancers will use a black cloth, nyiru and candles for ritual ask directions of an event.

Lelehe Dance 
Lelehe dance can be performed by children and adults. The dancers usually use two bamboo instrument measuring 2-3 meters as supplies dance. This dance is performed by a male and female dancer. Lelehe dance is a traditional tribal dance is usually performed in Tobelo and traditional events, weddings and evening cultural performances.
